This past weekend Teen Actor Diallo Thompson of Barbershop 3 and the recently TV One film “The Christmas Swap” held his inaugural toy drive event with the national charity Toys for Tots. Diallo partnered with kids from the Acting Up! Agency to collect toys for disadvantaged children. There was also a Q&A for the kids to ask Diallo anything they wanted about the acting industry. Diallo was able to give the kids some valuable insight and advice on how to follow their dreams. The founder of Acting Up! Director/Producer Brandon Thaxton also reiterated to the kids the importance of giving back to those less fortunate.
The toy drive was able to collect close to 100 toys and the kids had a blast. Toys for Tots provided a Marine Officer F. Burress to help facilitate the event. Toys for Tots and the Marine Corp have celebrated a 100-year partnership. Lunch was provided by Firehouse Subs while parents were able to get tips on how to get their child enrolled in ActingUp! which helps students obtain headshots and an agency to represent them.
