How long have you been in business?

I’ve been in business since 2012, I started Lanique Virtual Solutions in 2016.

Why did you pick this particular field to do business in?

I am a full time mother with Lupus. Living with a chronic illness has made it difficult to maintain a successful, traditional career. I designed a platform that provides a work life balance so women like myself can manage doctor appointments, a career as well as your mommy duties by allowing mothers and women with chronic illness an opportunity to set their own schedule, work from home while answering inbound customer service calls for top companies across the US.

Do you mind sharing a challenge you have faced in the business and how you have overcame it?

The biggest challenge I’ve had to encounter is handling the workload. When I launched Lanique Virtual Solutions, the response was great however, I found myself overwhelmed with the amount of business I got in such a short amount of time. While some may think having too much business is a good thing, it prevented me from providing the personalized approach to my clients and I was not happy with that. I got back on track, developed a more structured time management schedule and stuck to it diligently. I limited my social media time by creating scheduled posts and only checking my email three times per day so I can focus on my clients.

Why do you feel you have been as successful as you have in your business?

I feel I have been successful because my expectations for my business were realistic. I told myself, entrepreneurship was not going to be glamorous everyday but it was going to be worth it in the long haul. I knew I had to scale back on shopping, I knew I would miss some fabulous events and more than likely lose a few friends. Preparation and setting realistic expectations was the key component to my success thus far.

Why are you so compelled on seeing other women win BIG?

I’m just a lady cheering other ladies on! We are more than eye candy, we are soul food. Women are the embodiment of source energy and we have the passion, ability and potential to change the world and I want to do my part to make sure that happens.

So, what’s next in 2018 for you?

Now that my business is running smoothly, I am co-starring in a television show that airs in January on Bravo TV titled, “To Rome for Love.” It was an interesting journey and I can’t wait to show the world.

Do you mind sharing a fun fact about yourself?

I am a really good cook.
